Leavin’ on a Jet Plane…
…don’t know when I’ll be back again.
The date is rapidly approaching. I report to Newark airport Sunday morning, for my flight to Israel with birthright israel…while there I will be observing international trends in Jewish dating. In other words, “watching kids hook up with each other on the trip.” Well, we do have a bunch of siblings with us, so statistically that probably reduces the number of people who are potential hookups on our bus. But still, I have some hope that some young Jews on our bus will find love as they discover Israel. That would be totally Jewlicious.
In addition to having the chance to see Israel again through the eyes of newcomers, I’m hoping that this trip really helps me reconnect with college age kids–find out what their concerns are, explore their relationship with Jewish life and their nascent connections to Israel.
If I can, I’ll arrange for some guest bloggers. But if not, stay tuned, and I’ll try to post again soon. Next post from Jerusalem!

Sounds amazing! I so wanted to do Birthright. When I applied, I was called for the interview. Then after a phenomenal interview, they told me I was 6 months too old which is crap. BAH on them!
Anyway, I didn’t realize we both used the cliche of the jet plane on our recent posts. It wasn’t intentional I promise

it’s funny you should post that about bus hookups…
i went on a birthright trip 5 years ago expecting the opposite yet met a great guy on the plane there who turned out to be in my group…we dated till the end of the summer when we each went back to our respective schools – me as a senior and him as a soph…
i still have many fond memories from there – enjoy!
