“Appalling Male Behavior, Aisle 2…”
Oy vey. Not to overwhelmingly harp on appalling male dating behavior, but I felt the need to share this from Chayyei Sarah, writing from Jerusalem.
The nutshell? They connected. She felt great. And then he went loony tunes. (That’s my synopsis, not hers. Visit and see for yourself.)
And if you feel the urge to leave her a message of hope and encouragement, I’m quite certain that would be a mitzvah.
Sounds like Ms. Chayei is a bit too interested in talking and forming a connection. To a women, talking is like sex. To a guy, talking is talking.
I read her article, and felt so bad knowing that i’ve prob done something simlar in the past(lemme rephrase definately done something like that in the past)
I just don’t know… guys for some reason are able to conduct their lives without ever letting a thought actually disturb them!
I don’t believe its malicious intent like so many of the commentors would like to believe,I think it’s just a “stupid” gene which men are born with and I assume its a natural compensating mechanism which is only meant to kick in after marriage but some guys are early bloomers!!
and as someone wanted to insinuate that being a tosser to women is taught in basic training, sorry sunshine-i can assure you that it isn’t,it’s called “basic” cos it deals with guns and bullets,if “women” were dealt with it would have to be a PhD program!!

The problem w/ this type of analysis, is that you don’t know what women might have done to this guy in the past to cause him to act this way. I can recall more than one occasion where a woman that I fancied led me to believe that she liked me, only for me to discover that she only wanted something like in one case a rare Bruce Springteen live concert CD that we were supposed to listen to together, but then she weasled it out of me so she could listen to it alone, another time for example, dates were made w/ me and she never showed. This was when I was working in well known Jerusalem hangouts. So the point is, that it is not wise to analyze someone’s moves, w/ a prejudiced mind. Keep up the love it will come. listen to Tubular Bells or Ommadawn.
It doesen’t matter what happened to this guy in the past it’s no excuse for his behevior. If he had dignity and a conceience he wouldn’t have done it that way.

I don’t think his sex has anything to with him being a complete jerk.
It’s hard to judge though w/o hearing his side of the story. I’ve learnt this from watching Judge Judy, Texas Justice, and Divorce Court. Who said tv wasn’t educational? I’m practically Solomon now.
Yes of course it is not excuse, it is in the final analysis, she is better off w/out the fellow. So she should be happy not sad. I know it is easy to say, but that should be her mindset, that she needed to sufffer here, for some reason, so that the next one will be ripe, like a beautiful tomatoe.

To Chayei… Sounds like you really could do without this guy. He sounds really immature and inbalanced. Besides where you are located you can meet a lot of possible shidduchim, so why bother with a dork? Next time you meet a similar guy, you know what to do. Dump him like your garbage.
