JLove Freebie for Singles, through February 15
JLove, the online dating website that’s positioning itself as the market challenger of JDate (and founded by a former founder of JDate), is giving the gift of mail to single users this week…if you’re a non-premium member, you are being granted the chance to read your accumulated emails through the 15th for free. And if you want to send emails to a promising JLove user, that’s free too.
Of course, I would recommend that you not send emails like these two, the ones that were in my inbox when I redeemed this free offer…[original spellings preserved, of course]:
Subject: hello
“How are you? I like your profile and picture. You look pretty. Have a good weekend.”
Result: attempt to view profile blocked…”this profile is currently unavailable”
Subject: hello baby!
Message: I AM INTERESTED IN YOU. I LIVE IN MEXICO. COULD YOU DROP SOME LINES TO ME AT: [email address deleted] ??? THANKS YOU BEAUTIFUL BABY. I HOPE YOUR ANSWER. SO LONG.
Result: Moving to Mexico. Of course. We’re perfect together, can’t you see?
So don’t say JLove never got you anything for Valentine’s Day. Because three days of free membership privileges is better than you ever got at JDate, right?
What do you think of JRetroMatch.com?
Why do all the Singles Survival Strategies for V.Day for women suggest we take a bath? Do they think we don’t bathe, have our manicure/pedicures and hair done on a regular basis? I spend so much money on beauty maintenance I could feed an African villiage for a year (but hey, priorities, you know).
Tip to “Sexperts”: it’s the women in relationships that let themselves go!
Of course the tip for dealing with being single on V-Day is to sign up for Jdates evil twin. Yeah that’s a problems solver Insert eye roll here ________
How about jewish singles meeting at jzaftig.com? Let’s give the people what they want!
Sheesh. E, I think you should make a new blogsite Jdatersrehab.
Was this an actual offer that you redeemed from JLove? I’m not seeing this.
Avi, they sent it to me in the email…I assumed it was open to all new members, but I might have been wrong.
Ro, to my credit, I actually signed up a few weeks ago, not in reaction to V-Day, but because people keep asking me if it’s any good and I couldn’t answer them.
Pep, JRetromatch isn’t something I’ve used, so I have no idea what to think of it other than that it sounds like a good idea. If Saw You at Sinai works (a matchmaker site for religious singles) then maybe applying the same system to non-Orthodox singles is a good idea, too. I guess I’ll have to try JRetro to see for sure. Best idea is likely to make sure you’re comfortable with the matchmakers on the site. I have a few friends who are matchmakers on JRetro to recommend to you if you check them out…
I look forward to reading your comments on Jdates evil twin. I hope you didn’t think that snarky remark was geared toward you…rather the dating service. I didn’t think they were all that great.
This is in regards to the datesite… jlove.com
This company is bogus. I have attempted to reach them for months… not even a response to their within-members email. The phone numbers do not work.
So far, ager s8 months , only 3 of over 50 contacts has been real.
I had been writing to a man who I found later on the scammers photo sites. No contact from the company.
He changed his name, and wrote me again.Over the past three months I have kept copies of letters which I reponded to rudely… and still received nice letters back– all computer generated. I’d also been writing to someone who I thought was real— no way to find out who he is.. and he says he ’s a spy and can’t say…. This is crazy. However, I’ve researched and noticed an upcoming online-date-industry-meeting in LA….. I plan on being there with printed copies and discs of my experiences with this company that is merely stealing money, creating profiles, and getting nice people into messes which should not occur.
